Kings of Leon Sex on Fire
This video was directed by Sophie
Muller, She was born on the 31st January 1962. She has directed
music videos for Annie Lennox, The Cure, Gary Barlow, Blur and Gwen Stefani.

The video starts quite dark with an extreme close up on
the main band member’s face. The majority of this video is in poor lighting which
generates the effect of an abandoned warehouse it also adds a hint of
creepiness to it because part of his face is shadowed. The use of the camera
throughout the start of the video is very clever in the way that when the main
band member looks in a particular direction the camera snaps to that position
which is where you see a member of the band looking at him which adds to the
creepiness of the video. The main band member spends the majority of the video
“trapped” on this bed, while he is moving his hands it portrays confusion. The
camera shots match the beat of the song constantly switching between the main
band members on a bed to the band preforming. While the band are preforming
they use a tracking shot as the move into where the band are preforming, the
lighting in that particular shot although you could see all the band it was
still dark so the director had chosen to stay with the current design. The video was released in 2008 and when
checked in August 2012 it had over 60 Million Views.
