Jason Derulo ' The Other Side' Review

Jason Derulo ‘The Other Side’

The use of camera angles and shots in the music video are smooth sleek and quick, there is very quick fades between all of the shots, the camera is never still which adds effect to the video by adding anticipation. The use of varied angles throughout the video again adds an effect because you’re never looking at the same shot twice.

The director Colin Tilly has directed videos for Sean Kingston, Zendaya and Chris Brown, he has also won several awards for his music videos, one of his awards was video of the year at the 2011 BET awards, and the video that won was Chris Brown’s Look at Me.

The visual effects within this video are effective for this choice of genre which is Dance-Pop. The video looks like its set in either a club or a warehouse which creates the effect. The use of lighting throughout the video gave the feel of a club type atmosphere in the sense of low lighting. The use of back lighting again is effective because as the audience the outline of the dancers and main artist is shown.
